Carousel - pirouette robinia and stainless steel
The carousel is shaped like a pirouette where the child spins around itself. It measures 46 cm in diameter and has a height of 117 cm. The Piruette is therefore a perfect little carousel for smaller urban spaces, institutions and school playgrounds.
The carousel has a simple and nature-inspired look. The base is made of Robinia wood, which provides a warm and sensuous surface to stand on. The centre pole is made of stainless steel and acts as a stable support during play.
When the child steps onto the pirouette, the rotation is initiated with their own body weight. The child can use the centre pole to hold on to and lean into for balance. As the pirouette rotates and the child turns on its own axis, both the vestibular system and muscle and joint senses are stimulated. The self-propelled and controlled movement gives the child a sense of bodily mastery and control, while challenging their balance and responsiveness.
